Something recently hit me. It’s something I’ve thought for awhile but, because of my recent studies on Judaism, my recent studies on politics, and my experience with Christianity, the words to best explain it finally came to my mind. Violence, hatred, and fighting are not human nature, they are religious nature (and the sense of superiority that often comes with that). Human’s don’t naturally want to compete, to be better than everyone else, to be right, to be superior. It seems that the exclusiveness of many religions call for that. “The religious ideas at the heart of all civilizations are all too often mutually exclusive.” and that leads to fighting between civilizations, which is the opposite of what we all truly want, or at least what I want.
